Local client's settings (your PC !)
• Go to the mod's folder and open up options.cfg with notepad (or any other edit program). Set the listed attributes to the settings listed as follows:

[GX]
try_texture_compression no
use_radeon_compression_method no
vertex_damage no

• Move all files with .gcf extension from the mod's folder before joining any online race. Having any GCF file in the mod folder will cause warping cars.

• Make sure you have installed exactly the same track version (according to the track's file date) as the one schedule page link points to. Running different track versions will cause warp in online races !

Always login to race server by using ISDN option It's very important to follow these instructions as they heavily effect multiplayer capabilities !
Race procedure
Login to Race Server
At race start time, logon to race server (or even better about 10-15 min before).
Shut down all and any messaging programs before logging to race server.

Warm Up
There will be a warm-up run at start time to check internet lag. If some driver has a really bad connection and his car warps all over, he may be be asked to leave by race admin if else no save race is possible.

Cheating Alerts
During the warm up practice and pre-race briefing, race officials will pay attention to the cheating alerts the server throws. The drivers who triggered cheating alerts will be questioned and asked to “leave and get back” to the server again for checking. If the cheating message is shown a second time, the race officials have the right, to ask that particular driver to leave the server before the start of the race.

Qualifying Qualifying is limited in time. On tracks with estimated laptimes of about +2 min, you need to enter qualifying immediatly to avoid timing out. Drivers that get a timeout at qualifying will have to start the race from behind. Same goes for drivers that have missed qualifying.

Race Start
The road course when present on schedule sraces will always be started with a pace lap !
Gaps between cars must be at least .5 sec.
The pole sitter will enter first lap at low speed. He must signal his passing of the start line at entering 2nd lap by a "Go" chat message. Once the "Go" has been submitted, the race will start.

Race Start on Ovals
In oval tracks, the race will always start at the drop of green flag by the game itself.

Live Cautions - Yellow Flags ( for races or series where the caution system is employed)

Races with live caution system will require a human driven pacecar. The pacecar is the main race official and will be calling all decisions and commands/orders during the race like explained below:
The pacecar official will be monitoring the whole race and will call a caution at his discretion. Typically, anytime a 2 (or more) car wreck occurs or a single car wreck that puts any other competitor in danger. Occasionally, drivers that witness a multiple car wreck can inform the pacecar official by typing WRECK or WWW (or by Ventrillo - when available). But this is not a certain caution call, the pacecar official will analyze the situation and go with caution (or not) at his discretion.

Typical pacecar commands/orders will be:

***CAUTION - YELLOW FLAG*** (for caution)
PITS OPEN, STILL GREEN (to clarify any situation where a no harming wreck occurs)
WAVE AROUND (to signal lapped cars to get into position)
GREEN FLAG (for restarts).

PITS CLOSED: - PITS CLOSED: Once the yellow is out, the pits are automatically considered closed. All drivers must IMMEDIATLY start slowing down their cars until they reach the caution speed previously determined by the race official. After crossing the start/finish line, all drivers must stay LOW on the track. Once the field is caught up the official will type "PITS OPEN". This will allow all drivers to pit for service. No one is supposed to pit until pit lane is open by the admin. However, damaged cars uncapable to perform a full lap (for heavy damage) can pit anytime, but before they leave the pits, they will have to wait for everyone to pit and join the field at the end of the longest line (losing a lap).

If during a caution (before pits are open), a car is about to run out of fuel (or already is) it is then at risk of becoming "uncapable to perform a full lap". In this case the driver must proceed like his car was damaged and follow the same procedures the damaged cars: Before they leave the pits, they will have to wait for everyone to pit and join the field at the end of the longest line (losing a lap).

If during a caution (before pits are open), a non-damaged car (intentionally or inadvertedly) enter the pits, the driver must proceed like his car was damaged and follow the same procedures the damaged cars: Before they leave the pits, they will have to wait for everyone to pit and join the field at the end of the longest line (losing a lap).

Once the field is caught up the official will type "PITS OPEN". This will allow all drivers to pit for service. No one is allowed to pit until pit lane is open by the admin. Cars unable to go around the track (for damage) can pit anytime, but will have to wait and join the field at the end of the longest line.

After pitting under caution, drivers must maintain position, catch up to the field and maintain the caution speed previously determined by race officials. Only exception where overtaking is allowed is in the case of the car in front became disabled, uncapable to mantain the caution speed or uncapable to join the rest of the field due flagrant driving mishaps.

Once the fields is settled, the pacecar will order the single file race restart (anytime between the leader pass the pit lane entrance and the S/F line) by typing GREEN FLAG.• After 10 lapd to go, no more cautions will be called for any reason. Race official will then type "NO CAUTION ZONE" to let everyone to know.

Drivers are not allowed to discuss pacecar official commands or decisions. Once a decision is made, only the official can reconsider or keep it at his discretion. Any driver violating this rule might be invited to leave or in worst cases will be expelled of the race. Red Flags Occasionally, a RED FLAG (race must stop where determined) can be called anytime the race official needs to reorganize the field positions.
Save the race replay at race end !
Race End
In case of incidents the race replay is only proof for what had happened on your screen. Even if you have not been involved in any incident, your replay may be required for investigations and comparison to other driver's replays. Please save your result.txt in the mod's main folder as well.
Driver responsibilities
General ontrack behaviour

Drivers must be familiar with their car and the track before entering competition.
Practicing to get good knowledge of each specific track and the car's handling is mandatory before racing online. Drivers should never enter a race without having practiced before, as this would dramatically increase the likelyhood for race incidents. We're driving as friends and thus gentlemen-like sportsmanship is the required attitude for all drivers. Continuous violation of that axiom will not be tolerated, even if it doesn't go along with explicit rule breaking.

Overtaking
The safety at overtaking manoeuvres is in the responsibility of the overtaking driver in first order. The driver in front is in responsibilty of running a reasonable line. Cutting in even though the overtaking car already is on the inside next to your car isn't reasonable. Do not try to pass a car if it's not safe. Never launch any foolhardy overtaking attempts. Race incidents as a result of such misplaced strikes may be punished. It is in each driver's responsibility not to hit opponents' cars. Intentional hitting will result in disqualification.

Fighting
The driver in front has the right to chose line, but may not "sway" back and forth on straights to block an overtaking car. One "change of lanes" per straight is allowed to chose line into next corner.

Lapping
A car that is about to be lapped must yield to the lapping car at least within one lap by giving room for overtaking at first safe opportunity. Intentional "bumping away" a car at lapping that didn't make place at first sight however is not allowed under any circumstances and will be severely punished.

Chatting
There's no chatting allowed while racing ! Only the following predefined commands shall be submitted at specific situations

Go - Pole sitter signal for race start
Pits - before entiring pit lane
XXX - before exiting pit lane (mandatory !)
lap - signal to the driver in front that is to be lapped
<<< - "please overtake on the left"
>>> - "please overtake on the right"

Pitting
Drivers must take extra care when entering or exiting pits. You should signal your intentions to enter the pits via chat message especially if there's some cars close behind to avoid misinterpretations and misplaced manoeuvres. Drivers must signal when exiting pits by using chat messages to warn other drivers. It is in your responsibilty to stay out of the racing line of any car passing the pit lane when you get back to the track while taking up speed. For oval tracks Pitting Procedures Drivers must signal when exiting pits by using chat messages to warn other drivers. When entering the pits on most ovals (1 milers for example) enter the apron before turn 3 by signaling with PPP commands so other drivers know you’re going to pit. So they know you’re slowing down and can move higher on the track to avoid any collisions with drivers who are slowing down to pit. If dive bombing occurs when entering the you will be penalized. . When exiting the pits on most ovals (1 milers for example) type in XXXX meaning you’re exiting the pits. Then stay on the apron until after turn 1, and then safely merge back onto the track. By typing in the XXXX command gives other drivers on the track time to move high on the track so the exiting drivers can merge safely with other drivers. Drivers must stay out of the racing line of any car passing the pit lane when you get back to the track while taking up speed.

Race lines
Drivers are required to keep at least 2 wheels on the race track at all times. Consistent abuse may result in disqualification and no scoring for that race. Drivers who accidently shortcutted a corner must not gain positions on drivers who properly made the corner, and must slow and wait to pull behind any cars that they may have passed while running off the racetrack. Drivers that have accidently run offtrack must make sure only to get back to the track without blocking/hindering any other driver's race line - even if that eventually means to let pass the entire crowd.

Provisional & Subsitute Drivers

4 Provisionals are allowed for the season. . No provisionals allowed on the last race. Provisional points are last place position on the race (according the amount of drivers racing that particular race). A maximum of 4 substitutions are allowed for race 1 to 7 only. No subs allowed on the last race.
Championship points

For each race the top 15 finishers will be rewarded with points as follows:

Complaints on race incidents
Don't ever put up any complaints about race incidents or other driver's behaviour publicly in the race chat, on the forum or in the pre/post-race chat !

Send in your complaint only after at least 24 hours after the race. Take that 24h to calm down and think twice. Any complaint send in with less than 24h passed since race end will be ignored.

If after that 24h you still want to file in a complaint, post it as a forum PM to one of the Race Officials. In your PM, please stay to facts, don't put up assumptions - that's the admins' job.

Depending on what kind of complaint you have filed in, Race Officials may ask for prove in form of your race replay or screenshots. Other drivers' replays may be required as well. All parties involved in the complaint will be asked for a statement.

The decision on the complaint is up to Race Officials. All people directly involved will be informed about decisions; any given penalties will be published on the race series' main and incidents pages.
Penalties
There's categories on race incidents as follows:
warning: dangerous situations/bending rules or a singular minor incident; not necessarily need to have been an incident though.
Shortcutting
Minor: typically hits/bumps caused by bad judgement; causing no/little damage/loss of position
Dangerous Driving: incidents typically caused by bad judgement/overeagerness/lack of car control; causing medium/serious damage/loss of position
Major: incidents caused by intentional purpose.
Penalties can/will be given as follows
warning: for causing dangerous situations/bending rules or a singular minor incident; doesn't necessarily need to have been an incident though.
Only put out once per driver.
-1 Points: typically hits/bumps caused by bad judgement;
-2 points: incidents typically caused by bad judgement/overeagerness/lack of car control; causing medium/serious damage/loss of position decided by the quality of incidents
disqualification: on major incidents
race ban: on frequently causing major incidents, intentional wrecking.
There doesn't neccessarily need to be any complaint; there will be investigations on any race incident that's visible on server replay. If some race officials had been involved in a race incident, he cannot take part in the corresponding decisions. Race officials are not immune to getting penalties...
